Travel 120 Million Years Back in Time

Try your hand at digging fossils in Katsuyama City, home to one of Japan’s greatest dinosaur fossil excavation sites. Break open rocks from the Cretaceous period, when dinosaurs walked the earth, using the same kind of hammer and chisel used in actual archaeological excavations. You can also ask the instructor about the types and names of the fossils you find.
Enjoy and learn about what kinds of fossils are found in what kinds of stone. (Reservations required, at least one day in advance.)
