The street to Eiheiji Temple's front gate has a charming atmosphere, and makes a great sightseeing destination, with plenty of restaurants and shops offering souvenirs. Enjoy local specialties like sauce katsu-don pork cutlet bowl, Eiheiji soba noodles, go-rieki dango dumplings, and sesame dumplings. At Jakkoen, a park with the graves for each head of Eiheiji temple, visitors can feel free to ring the bell at the Shorodo (belfry).
